Thirty-three centers of the "Migration Service of the DNR MIA" will receive documents for the mass issuance of Russian passports to residents of the occupied territories.
This was stated by "head of the Migration Service of the DNR" Vladimir Krasnoshchoka, - separatist media write.
According to him, today from 9:00, these 33 centers "began collecting documents from residents of the "republic" for obtaining citizenship of the Russian Federation under simplified procedure".
Prior to this, only the "DPR Migration Service Administration" in occupied Donetsk accepted applications from those who wanted to receive Russian passports.
It was earlier reported that on April 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the simplified receipt of Russian passports by residents of the temporarily occupied Donbass. On April 27, Putin stated that Russia could simplify the procedure for obtaining citizenship for all Ukrainians, and not just for those living in the occupied territories of Donbass.
On May 1, Putin signed a decree that simplified the procedure for obtaining Russian citizenship for certain categories of Ukrainian citizens. The right to obtain citizenship of the Russian Federation under simplified procedure, in particular, was received by citizens of Ukraine who do not have citizenship of another state, as well as stateless persons who were born and permanently resided in the Crimea and left the peninsula until March 18, 2014, as well as their children, husbands (wives) and parents.
The MFA of Ukraine categorically demanded that the Russian party immediately repeal all unlawful decisions regarding the passportization of Ukrainian citizens and eliminate their negative consequences. The ministry emphasizes that the regulatory legal acts of the Russian Federation, both previous and future, aimed at giving Russian citizenship to citizens of Ukraine in an unlawful manner, were, are and will be legally void, will not have any legal consequences and will not be recognized by the Ukrainian party.
