U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch is indeed completing her three-year term in Kyiv as was planned earlier, and her departure date is coordinated with the transfer of presidential power in Ukraine. This is stated in the response of the official representative of the U.S. State Department to the request of Ukrinform.

"Ambassador Yovanovitch completes her three-year diplomatic term in Kyiv in 2019 as planned", - the U.S. foreign affairs department noted.

As clarified in the State Department, the "confirmed departure date" of the diplomat in May is consistent with the transfer of presidential power in Ukraine.

"The team at the U.S. Embassy in Kyiv, as well as in Washington, continues to work closely with the Ukrainian government and civil society to strengthen our partnership", - the U.S. Department of State noted.

As previously reported, on Monday, the Ukrainian media spread the information that U.S. Ambassador in Kyiv Marie Yovanovych completes her work in Kyiv and returns home on May 20.
