General Prosecutor's Office has become a hotbed of corruption and obstacle for new investments in Ukraine. This was stated by Deputy Prosecutor General Vitaliy Kasko today at the press conference in Kiev, - reports the correspondent of OstroV.

"Today, the General Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine has become, firstly, deterrent of the criminal justice reform, secondly, a hotbed of corruption, thirdly, an instrument of political pressure, and fourthly, one of the key obstacles of foreign investment in Ukraine", - he said.

According to him, the prosecutor's office reform deliberately failed, local prosecutors’ offices are not updated, and the Prosecutor General did not appoint any external candidate to be head of a local prosecutor's office.

"Prosecutorial municipality was postponed twice and has not been created yet, procedural independence of the prosecutor has not been provided and thus, prosecutors’ offices remains Soviet, hierarchical and highly corrupt, - added V.Kasko.
