Rada wants to "help new team" and remove immunity from people's deputies this week

Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Iryna Herashchenko proposes that Parliament consider the law on the removal of parliamentary immunity this Thursday. She said this today at the Parliament's coordination board, - correspondent of OstroV reports.

"I believe that we need to consider the law on immunity, which is currently in the Verkhovna Rada. I believe that we should consider it without delay", - speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy said.

In turn, vice-speaker of the Parliament Iryna Heraschenko proposed to consider this bill this Thursday.

"I insist that we help the new team, which only announced that they are going to remove parliamentary immunity, and voted for it already on Thursday. This law was adopted and returned from the Constitutional Court", - she said.

Earlier, Volodymyr Zelensky stated that lifting immunity from deputies, judges and presidents would be one of his first initiatives.

As previously reported, the second round of the presidential election was held on April 21. The turnout of voters in the second round of the presidential election was 62.07%. The results of the National Exit Poll showed such support for the candidates: 73% for Zelensky, 25.5% for Poroshenko.
