Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has stated that he hoped for a "revival of the killed economic interaction" under the new leadership of Ukraine. He wrote this on his Facebook.

"The result showed an explicit request for new approaches in solving the problems of Ukraine. It is obvious that the new president will have to consolidate the country taking into account the realities that have developed in recent years. I have no doubt that the new head of state will follow the rhetoric regarding Russia during the election campaign. To repeat the well-known ideological formulas, focused on different groups of the population. I have no illusions on this", - he wrote.

At the same time, he hopes that there are "chances for better interaction" with the Russian Federation.

"What is needed for this? Honesty. We also need a pragmatic and responsible approach", - he noted.

Medvedev wished sanity and "understanding of the deep value of relations between the peoples of our countries" to the new Ukrainian leadership.

"It is only this basis that the killed economic cooperation can be revived on", - the Russian premier believes.

According to the CEC as of 10:00 of April 22, more than 94% of the ballots were processed. Volodymyr Zelensky is leading - 73.18%. The incumbent head of state Petro Poroshenko has 24.49% of the votes.
