Presidential candidate Petro Poroshenko is ready for a debate with Volodymyr Zelensky at the NSC Olimpiyskiy on April 19, if it does not coincide in time with the debate on Suspilny. This was reported by Oleh Medvedev, speaker of the election headquarters of Petro Poroshenko, today at a press conference in Kyiv, - correspondent of OstroV reports.

"The law of Ukraine provides for the obligatory debate on Suspilny television on the last Friday (before the election, - OstroV). Therefore, we know for sure that the 19th will be on the schedule of candidate Poroshenko - he must be on Suspilny television on April 19 at 20:00. He will definitely be there", - he reported.

Medvedev also reported that Petro Poroshenko would arrive to the NSC Olimpiyskiy on April 14 at 14:14 to hold the debate with Volodymyr Zelensky.

"Poroshenko is also ready on some other day, possibly on the 19th, to arrive to the stadium to hold the debate with Zelensky, but there is one thing called the Law of Ukraine "On the Election of the President", and Zelensky's invitation should not coincide with that time, which the law requires for attending the debate on Suspilny television", - he noted.

The staff of the NSC Olympiyskiy earlier stated that it received a request from representatives of presidential candidates Petro Poroshenko and Volodymyr Zelensky to hold the debate.

"In particular, from the representative of the presidential candidate Petro Poroshenko - on April 14 and 19, 2019, and from the representative of the presidential candidate Volodymyr Zelensky - on April 19, 2019. The NSC Olimpiyskiy initiated a negotiation process with the representatives of the indicated candidates on ensuring the conduct of the debate on the territory of the sports complex", - the report said.

As previously reported, on April 3, Zelensky stated his readiness to go to the debate with Poroshenko before the second round of the presidential election, but voiced a number of conditions. In particular, the debates should be held at the NSC Olimpiyskiy, before the people of Ukraine, and all channels must have the right to broadcast the debate live, the candidates must also pass a medical examination and prove to the people that there are neither alcoholics nor drug addicts among them.

Petro Poroshenko, in turn, stated that he waits for Zelensky at the NSC Olimpiyskiy on April 14 to hold the debate. On April 8, Zelensky made a statement that the debate with Poroshenko at the NSC Olimpiysky should be held on April 19.
