The Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Partnership between Ukraine and the Russian Federation expired.

On December 10, 2018, President Petro Poroshenko signed bill No. 0206 to terminate the Treaty of Friendship.

As previously reported, the Treaty of Friendship was signed in 1997 by President of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma and President of Russia Boris Yeltsin, it became effective on April 1, 1999. The parties were obliged to respect each other's territorial integrity and confirmed the inviolability of the state borders, which were present at the time of the document's signature.
