A militant who was on duty at the site of the Malaysian Boeing fall in 2014, blocking access by the media and representatives of various organizations to parts of the downed aircraft, was detained. This is reported by the department of communication of the general directorate of the national police in Donetsk oblast.

In 2017, the militant deserted and worked in the public utilities office, and when the life did not develop in the occupation, he came to the territory controlled by Ukraine in Toretsk. Here he was convicted of criminal investigation operatives and border guards. Now the investigation is working with the suspect.

It was established that after being released from prison in 2014, a three-time convicted resident of occupied Dokuchaievsk fought as member of illegal armed formations. In total, the 41-year-old mercenary spent 12 years behind bars, including for rape.

The recruit was given a uniform and Kalashnikov assault rifle. With a firearm in his hands, the militant carried out the illegal filtering of citizens at checkpoints in the Shakhtarsk district.

He was also involved in the protection of wreckage of the downed MH17 flight of Malaysia Airlines, when all 298 people on board were killed.

"When I arrived, the bodies were no longer there, small parts of the plane remained in place. My task was to keep the media and various representatives out of the details", - the detainee tells.

According to the mercenary, the locals said that the rocket was fired at the plane by the occupants, but "Bes immediately arrived at the scene with his detached unit, which intimidated the population with execution so that they kept silent".

In the photo in social networks, the suspect is on the positions of the pro-Russian forces, along with military equipment. The investigation will find out what crimes the detainee is involved in.

Preliminarily, he is charged with Part 5 of Art. 260 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine "Creation of not provided for by law paramilitary or armed formations". The member of illegal armed formations faces up to 15 years in prison. Pre-trial investigation is ongoing.

The plane of Malaysia Airlines, performing a flight MH17 from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, was shot down on July 17, 2014 over the territory of Donetsk oblast occupied by the militants. All 298 people on board were killed. Most of the dead (196 people) were citizens of the Netherlands. On May 24, 2018, the Joint Investigation Team, which includes representatives from Australia, Belgium, Malaysia, the Netherlands and Ukraine, provided additional evidence of Russia's key role in the tragic crash of flight MH17. The group concluded that the Buk anti-aircraft missile system, from which the plane was shot down, belonged to the 53rd Anti-Aircraft Missile Brigade of the Russian armed forces, stationed in Kursk.
