The "DNR" occupation authorities have stated that Special Representative of the OSCE in the Tripartite Contact Group Martin Sajdik visited occupied Donetsk on February 15-16. Separatist media reported this with reference to the "Ministry of Foreign Affairs".

According to the "ministry," he "discussed the most important issues of a peaceful settlement of the conflict in Donbass with the leadership of the republic, as well as general security situation in the region".

It is revealing that the "MFA of the DNR" states that the OSCE special representative visited occupied Donetsk on February 15-16, but information about this was made public only three days later - on February 19.

On February 19, the press service of the OSCE SMM declined to comment to OstroV on the message of the "DNR" authorities, having recommended that the request be sent to the OSCE Communication and Media Relations Office, located in Vienna (Austria). At the moment, there has been no response to the OstroV's request for information about Martin Saidik's visit to occupied Donetsk.

Special Representative of the OSCE in the Tripartite Contact Group on the settlement of situation in the east of Ukraine Martin Sajdik is the author of a plan for the peaceful settlement of conflict in the Donbass with the UN participation. He told this in an interview with the Austrian newspaper Kleine Zeitung.

"For many years we have seen what was not entirely clear in the Minsk agreements. A mandatory part is that to implement the central element, to hold local elections, external assistance is required. We concluded that this could only be the UN", - Sajdik noted.

According to him, the task of the OSCE is to monitor the elections, so it cannot take part in their organization. In addition, according to Sajdik, it is necessary to engage the UN, since there are too little human resources in the OSCE.

The new peace "Sajdik's plan" offers a new approach, according to which representatives of the Normandy format, heads of states and governments of Russia, Ukraine, France and Germany should sign a new document.

According to Martin Sajdik, the OSCE presented its new plan in Milan during the last meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council in December, where representatives from Ukraine, Russia, Germany and France were present.

The ideas expressed by the OSCE Special Representative were ambiguously perceived by both the Ukrainian party and "DNR/LNR" occupation authorities.
