"DNR" acknowledges that there is a large shortage of health workers in "republic": more than 12 thousand vacancies

The "DNR" has stated that the shortage of doctors and nursing staff is almost 13 thousand vacancies. This was stated by the so-called "Minister of Health" of the "DNR" Olga Dolgoshapko in an interview with separatist media.

"The shortage of medical personnel in the Republic is more than 5 thousand doctors. As for the nursing staff – it is more than 7.5 thousand people. Now the next graduation in medical university is near, but these are only 158 medical students and 44 pediatricians. There is a huge shortage of personnel in district and rural hospitals. In some areas, the situation is further complicated by constant shelling. And there is no housing for young professionals", – she noted.

According to her, the problem of personnel shortage is acute in remote areas.

As previously reported, the hospitals in a number of occupied cities of the Donetsk oblast are experiencing a serious personnel shortage. In particular, there is not a single pediatrician in Ilovaisk and there are not enough specialized doctors - parents come with sick children before the hospital opens: they stand in the cold for an hour and then, about 5 hours in the queue before they get to the only pediatrician. Hospitals in Makiivka, Horlivka, Kirovsk, Shakhtarsk, Yasynuvata, Amvrosiivka and Telmanove districts also experience personnel shortage.
