Foreign Policy magazine has disavowed a fragment of interview with Principal Deputy Chief Monitor of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine Alexander Hug, in which he allegedly claims that the Mission did not see Russia's direct intervention in the war in Donbass.

Earlier version of the interview stated that, despite the fact that the OSCE SMM recorded the illegal – by country roads, at night – invasion of Russian convoys into the occupied Donbass territory, latest Russian weapons and captured Russians who recognized their affiliation with the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, the Mission did not see the facts of direct intervention by Russia.

The magazine deleted this passage as it is inconsistent with the point of view of Alexander Hug.

Now it is directly said in the interview only about the columns of Russian trucks secretly entering the occupied territory of Donbass, recording the newest Russian weapons from militants and recognizing of captured Russians that they serve in the Russian army and participate in military operations in Ukraine.
