U.S. Ambassador opens Window on America in university of Mariupol

U.S. Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch opened the Window on America Information Resource Center at Mariupol State University, - the press service of the Mariupol City Council reports.

Welcoming the guests of honor, rector of the Moscow State University Konstantin Balabanov expressed confidence that the center would contribute to the rapprochement of the Ukrainian and American nations.

Trainings, seminars, film screenings and meetings with representatives of the U.S. Embassy will be held on the basis of the center.

Marie Yovanovitch noted that this is already the 29th such center in Ukraine and its opening in Mariupol is very important. "Our goal is to support the development of relations between the residents of Mariupol, Donetsk oblast and people of the United States. I am confident that such "windows on America" will contribute to the development of Ukraine's economic and political culture through discussions, seminars and cultural events", - the ambassador said.

Deputy Mayor Oleksandr Kochurin thanked the U.S. Embassy for the help and attention they give to Mariupol. "We are grateful to the Embassy that such a center appeared in Mariupol. Thanks to it, students, teachers and all people of Mariupol will be able to understand the culture of the United States of America better and get access to English-language literature and scientific journals", - he noted.
