The military prosecutor's office of the Central region has confirmed the death of pilots of the Su-27 fighter in a crash in the Vinnytsia oblast on October 16. This is reported by press service of the prosecutor's office.
According to the report, a military fighter Su-27UB, tail number 70, serial number 96310424040, fell in the Vinnytsia oblast, not far from the village of Ulaniv of the Khmelnytskyi district, around 5 p.m. on October 16.
According to preliminary data, the aircraft of the Air Forces of Ukraine got off the ground of airfield in Starokostiantyniv to carry out a combat training flight as part of the Clear Sky-2018 military exercises. According to preliminary information from the scene of the tragedy, both pilots died.

On October 16, the military prosecutor's office of the Vinnytsia garrison bring in information according to the criminal offense under Article 416 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine "Violation of the rules of flights or preparation for them" into the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations. The pre-trial investigation is entrusted to investigators of the National Police in the Vinnytsia oblast.
The report notes that #ClearSky2018 international exercises, which are destined to increase the compatibility with NATO air forces, are being held in Ukraine from October 8 to 19 in the sky over Vinnytsia and Khmelnytskyi oblasts.
As previously reported, one of the dead pilots is a member of the U.S. National Guard Aviation.
