The militant who fought in the Somalia Battalion and took an active part in armed clashes

with the Armed Forces of Ukraine, was sent to prison, the press service of the Prosecutor's Office of Donetsk oblast reports.

In November 2014, a 30-year-old citizen of the Republic of Belarus joined the ranks of the "DNR" militants. After receiving the "rank" of "senior sergeant", the man began serving in the "1st Separate Tank Battalion Somalia" as commander of the tank, for which he received salary.

He also took an active part in the conduct of military operations against units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and other Ukrainian military formations who conducted ATO in the territory of the Donetsk oblast: in particular, he took part in seizing of Donetsk airport in 2015.

Later in 2015, the terrorist left the service, but in 2017 he returned and was enlisted in one of the "military units" of the "DNR".

"On August 10, 2018, this person arrived on the territory of Ukraine to continue his illegal activities, where, thanks to the coordinated and professional work of the SBU and prosecutors, he was immediately exposed", - the report said.

The citizen of Belarus was informed of a suspicion of committing a criminal offense under Part 1 of Art. 258-3 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The court granted the petition of the prosecutor's office of Donetsk oblast and chose a preventive measure in the form of detention for a period of 60 days.
