Donetsk oblast governor announced creation of self-defence brigade in the region

Chairman of the Donetsk Regional State Administration Pavlo Zhebrivskyi announced on his Facebook the creation of a territorial defence brigade in the region.

"The territorial defence brigade will soon appear in the Donetsk oblast, its advanced units will be located in Kramatorsk, Pokrovsk, Bakhmut and two in Mariupol. The corresponding brigade formation program was approved at a meeting of the board of the Donetsk regional state administration on April 26", - the head of Donetsk regional administration said.

$903 thousand will be allocated for the implementation of the program in 2018-2019, including $191 thousand from the regional budget, $153 thousand from the district budget, and the rest from the budgets of cities and joint territorial communities.

The military commissar of the Donetsk regional commissariat, Colonel Oleksandr Serhiiv, noted that the brigade will be headed by an ATO combat officer, who was injured and awarded.

"I set the task that the self-defence brigade should be no worse, and even better than brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in terms of professionalism and equipment. The personnel will be used in military actions in case of escalation of Russian aggression, as well as in cases of emergency situations", - Zhebrivskyi said.
