Ukraine has serious problems with external debt. Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman said this during a Government Question Hour meeting held in Parliament on Friday, April 20, RBK-Ukraine reports.

"We have more and more challenges, we have serious problems from the point of view of servicing external debts. We did not take them, but we have to return them. State debt for the period of 2007-2014 is $60 billion. $46 billion were borrowed from the outside, but neither Ukraine, nor the Ukrainians felt it", -Groysman said. He noted that Ukraine has passed the anti-crisis phase.

"It should be noted that for 2014-2015 our state has undergone tremendous tests from the point of view of social and economic issues that are extremely sensitive for Ukrainian citizens. Our task was to ensure the beginning of economic growth. Now we can say, that these two years were not simple, we have passed the anti-crisis stage".

Earlier, Finance Minister Oleksandr Danyliuk had reported that the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine plans to reduce the level of state debt to 60% of GDP by 2020.
