Usual practice: people from the occupied territories will be disqualified after liberation – Avakov

After liberation of the occupied territories, citizens of Ukraine living there will be temporarily disqualified. This was stated by Interior Minister Arsen Avakov in an interview with Ukrayinska Pravda.

"I think that people from the occupied territories will be disqualified in respect of elections to the central authorities – parliament, president, etc. But this is a usual international practice", - he said.

According to the minister, this practice of deprivation of rights was applied in all post-conflict zones.

"Time soothes too hot emotions. This period has always been from 5 to 10 years. After that, the territory became fully legitimate", - A.Avakov believes.
