The Kremlin has expressed doubts about the impact of the upcoming meeting of the leaders of Germany, France and Ukraine on the situation in the Donbass, having recalled that the true Norman format envisages Russia's participation. This was stated to journalists by press secretary of the Russian president Dmitry Peskov, - RIA Novosti reports.

Earlier, German Chancellor Angela Merkel stated at a joint press conference with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko in Berlin about a possible meeting of leaders of Germany, France and Ukraine in German Aachen in May.

"You can only see how they can influence and whether they can influence on the fate of Donbass", —Peskov said, answering the question of how the Kremlin perceives the possible holding of such talks and how they can influence on the fate of Donbass.

When asked whether Russia was offended that it had not been invited to such summit, Peskov said that this summit should be waited for at first. "Let's wait for such a summit. There are certainly some questions that the countries prefer to discuss in the format of three, but the true Norman format, as we know, implies the participation of Russia", — he said.
