ATO HQ reports 44 enemy attacks, 1 KIA in last day

Russian-backed militants launched 44 attacks on positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) area in Donbass over the past day. This is reported by the ATO Headquarters press center.

In Donetsk direction, terrorists fired 120mm mortars near Lebedynske, Opytne and Shyrokyne. The enemy also used tank and 82mm mortars outside Pisky. Russian-backed militants opened fire from 82mm mortars on defenders of Talakivka. Grenade launchers of different systems were used to shell Ukrainian positions outside Avdiivka, Vodiane, Bohdanivka, Novotroitske and Butovka coal mine. Ukrainian strongholds near Verkhniotoretske and Pavlopol came under heavy machine gun fire.

Militants also used infantry combat vehicles to launch attacks on Ukrainian troops near Hnutove. Ukrainian strongholds outside Butovka coal mine, Kamyanka, Marinka and Krasnohorivka came under small arms fire.

In Luhansk direction, illegal armed formations fired grenade launchers, small arms and heavy machine guns at Ukrainian positions near Novhorodske. ATO troops outside Troitske came under heavy machine gun fire.

As a result of the enemy shelling, one Ukrainian soldier was killed, another one was injured. He was promptly taken to a medical institution and was provided with medical assistance.
