Ukraine has terminated a program of economic cooperation with the Russian Federation for 2011-2020. The relevant decision was made at the government session, - RBC-Ukraine reports.

The intensification of cooperation in the field of military-technical cooperation was one of the main directions of this program. It was assumed that Ukraine and Russia would create joint ventures and strategic corporate associations to create new models of military, dual and special purpose products. Furthermore, the program envisaged the development of cooperation in the field of hydrocarbon production, processing, storage and transit, as well as joint development of technologies for exploration and production of gas from non-traditional sources, development and exploitation of hydrocarbon deposits on the Black Sea shelf.

Termination of the program is part of a set of measures aimed at countering the aggressive policy of the Russian Federation.

Actions that Russia has systematically applied to Ukraine over the last few years directly contradict the stated goals of the development of cooperation between the countries. In particular, since the end of 2015, the Russian Federation has consistently implemented trade and transit aggression against Ukraine: the unilateral termination of the Free Trade Area Agreement within the CIS for Ukraine in connection with which the import duty is applied to goods originating from Ukraine in the amount of rates of the Unified Customs Tariff of the EAEU; the ban on imports for certain types of agricultural products, raw materials and food products, including of Ukrainian origin; the actual blocking of transit of Ukrainian goods through the territory of the Russian Federation.
