People's Deputy of Ukraine Nadia Savchenko was withdrawn from the session hall of the Verkhovna Rada because she allegedly had three grenades and a pistol in her bag. This is reported by Ukrainska Pravda with reference to sources.
In particular, the representative of the president in the parliament Iryna Lutsenko said that Savchenko was removed from the session hall because of the threat coming from her. She did not specify the nature of the threat.
According to the interlocutors of Ukrainska Pravda, Savchenko brought three grenades and a pistol. This information was confirmed by two other MPs, which led her out of the hall. The guards did not have the right to check the bag of the deputy.
According to the sources, Savchenko agreed to give up ammunition, provided that the incident does not break into the open.
Tetiana Protorchenko, the press secretary of Savchenko, called this information "someone's crazy fantasies".
As previously reported, Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko said that Savchenko had planned an attack within the walls of the Verkhovna Rada.
"The investigation has irrefutable evidence that Nadia Savchenko plotted, recruited and instructed how to carry out a terrorist act within the walls of the parliament. She planned to destroy two loges with grenades and to bring down the dome of the Verkhovna Rada by mortars", - Lutsenko said.
The Prosecutor General’s Office submitted to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine the motion on giving consent to the stripping of immunity from N. Savchenko.
