The OSCE special monitoring mission in Ukraine says about the intensified monitoring in Uzhgorod from Ivano-Frankivsk. This was reported in the press service of the OSCE SMM, Ukrainska Pravda informs.

"In response to the recent events in the city of Uzhgorod and its environs, the OSCE SMM increased monitoring in this area", - the OSCE SMM said. It also promised to post all the conclusions on the OSCE website.

Earlier the media reported that on March 10, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó said that the OSCE had informed him about the opening of an observation mission in Zakarpattia. This statement has raised doubts, since there is no such information on the official website of the Hungarian government or on the OSCE website. In addition, to send the mission they need consensus in the OSCE, and it is impossible, because Ukraine opposed.

The Hungarian Society of Transcarpathia, whose office has been attacked two times, called for the deployment of a permanent OSCE mission in the region. The topic of the introduction of the OSCE Permanent Mission in Zakarpattia was repeatedly raised by the official Budapest as well. On March 7, the head of the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the dispatch of the OSCE monitoring mission in Zakarpattia oblast as a fait accompli, noting that Budapest welcomed such a step. In his turn, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin stated that he sees no grounds for sending observers to the region, while stressing that Russian provocations in the region should be stopped.
