The five-day national action plan for gas saving is being introduced in Ukraine since March 2. This was announced at the session of the parliament on Friday by the Minister of Energy Ihor Nasalyk, - LB.ua writes.

According to him, the cold weather and a reduction in pressure in the gas transportation system by Russia resulted in the imbalance in gas in the amount of about 15-20 million cubic meters. In this regard, on March 1, a meeting of the crisis headquarters was held, following which a national plan of action was introduced.

"The action plan provides for: first - the transfer of generating companies from gas to fuel oil, this will give us the opportunity to save about 15-20 million cubic meters of gas per day. Second, we said from today to completely stop the work of pre-school educational institutions, schools and higher education institutions for the period up to March 6. And third, we appealed to production facilities so that they revised the action plan of production with the condition of saving gas resources", - he said.

Nasalyk believes that the imbalance will be overcome on March 5-6.

As previously reported, Naftogaz of Ukraine announced the need to reduce gas consumption by 8-9% in the next four days because of the actions of the Russian Gazprom.
