The creator of the Vostok terrorist battalion Alexander Khodakovsky is sure that the MTS mobile operator doesn’t work in the occupied part of the Donetsk oblast because of a "political decision". He stated this during an online conference.

Answering the question whether the leader of the "DNR" really forbade the restoration of the connection of the Ukrainian operator and what can be done in this case, the militant replied that the waiver of the MTS is a political decision.

"So far, nothing can be done. There is a political decision, and this decision has not been canceled yet", - he said.

"Everyone allegedly refers to the Vodafone sabotage on the Ukrainian territory, that they are not allowed to repair the damage... But I'm not ready to comment now what is really going on there", - he said.

"I know that initially it was a willful decision not to restore the communications... But, frankly, they do not pay much attention to the needs of individuals", - he noted, saying that the residents of the "DNR" feel this by themselves.

"Nowadays a person is a resource, nothing more", - he summed up.

Alexander Khodakovsky is a former employee of the SBU, he betrayed the oath and from the first days of the Russian hybrid war against Ukraine became one of the leaders of the Donbass terrorists. He created and led the Vostok battalion. Currently, he is moved away from all official posts in the "DNR". Now he is in the confrontation with the so-called "head of the republic" Alexander Zakharchenko. He stands for an idea of Donbass accession to Russia, but his approach to this matter does not find understanding in the Russian Federation. In the fall of 2017, he announced his desire to participate in the “next elections for the post of head of the republic".

As previously reported, on January 11, the MTS mobile connection stopped working in the occupied territories of Donbass. After Vodafone carried out repair works, the signal was back in the "LNR", but it still doesn’t operate in the "DNR".
