"It is clear that our passport will not be a full-fledged, internationally recognized document it the beginning. But we hope that our passport will be recognized as a travel document, at least, by the Russian Federation. This will solve many of the problems,"- said Zakharchenko.

He also added that their "DPR" passports would not serve as a travel document when crossing borders as "republic" is recognized only by South Ossetia.

According to the leader of the militants, it was Ukraine that forced the authorities of the "DPR" to issue its own passports.

"However, Ukraine, which passports are still used by the overwhelming majority of our people, tens to issue new biometric passports this year. Thus, it is clear that our people will not be able to receive new passport and, therefore, will generally have no main document,"- complained Zakharchenko.
