"He will never repent". Suspect of murder of human rights defender Iryna Nozdrovska admitted guilt - Abroskin

Yuriy Rossoshansky, suspect of murder of human rights defender Iryna Nozdrovska, has admitted guilt. This was reported at a briefing in Kyiv today by deputy head of the National Police Vyacheslav Abroskin, - correspondent of OstroV reports.

"I personally talked with him… He fully admits guilt. He completely pointed out the place and the mechanism of infliction of bodily injury, what coincides in nature as a result of medico-legal investigation", - he reported.

"I think he was not fully aware of what he did, but having a conversation with him, I realized that he would never repent. Repentance and confession are different things. He admits his guilt, but does not repent", - Abroskin added.

He also noted that as a result of DNA testing on the body of the deceased, particles that belonged to the suspect Yuriy Rossoshansky were found.

As previously reported, on January 1, the police reported that a woman's body was found in the Vyshgorodsky district of the Kyiv oblast. It turned out that this was lawyer Iryna Nozdrovska, whose search was announced on December 30.

Vitaliy Serhiyiv, former fiance of the murdered Iryna Nozdrovska, refused to give testimony. According to him, he dated her from November 2016 to June 2017, and the last time he saw the deceased was August.

For several years, Nozdrovska was engaged in the case of death of her sister Svitlana Sapatynska, who was knocked down and killed in Demydiv village on September 30, 2015 by nephew of head of the court of the Vyshgorodsky district Dmitriy Rossoshansky.

In May 2017, Rossoshansky was sentenced to 7 years in prison, his defence lodged an appeal.

On December 27, the Kyiv Court of Appeal refused to release him and extended the pre-trial restriction in the form of detention for 60 days.
