Expert study confirms originality of voices of Saakashvili and fugitive Kurchenko on tapes - Prosecutor General's Office

The Ukrainian Research Institute of Special Equipment and Forensic Examination at the Security Service of Ukraine has conducted an examination confirming the authenticity of voices on tapes with recorded wiretapped phone conversations between ex-president of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili and a fugitive Ukrainian oligarch Serhiy Kurchenko, where he is trying to agree on cooperation with Saakashvili. Larysa Sarhan, the spokeswoman of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine reported this on Facebook.

“The Ukrainian scientific and research institute of the special equipment and legal expertise of the SBU held the phonoscopic examination that confirmed the originality of the voices in the recorded talks between Mikheil Saakashvili and Serhiy Kurchenko. The words and phrases that belong to them are personalized in the protocol on the result of the holding of the non-public investigative event”, - she wrote.

The spokeswoman noted that about 15 people that record the crime of M. Saakashvili, S. Kurchenko, O. Dynnyk, S. Danhadze were questioned as the witnesses and stay under the defence of the state.

As previously reported, on December 5, the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko said that Saakashvili and his entourage received funding from members of Yanukovych’s organized criminal group to hold protests in Ukraine in order to seize power. The Prosecutor General's Office released a record of alleged conversation between former Georgian President Saakashvili and fugitive oligarch Kurchenko, where they allegedly agreed on cooperation.
