The press service of the Prosecutor's Office of the Donetsk oblast reports that a resident of Kramatorsk was sentenced for more than three years in prison for theft and service to the "DNR" militants.

The Court of Appeal of the Donetsk oblast upheld the legal position of the Kramatorsk local prosecutor's office and left unchanged the verdict of the court of first instance, according to which the man had been sentenced to 3 years and 1 month of imprisonment.

In December 2016, law enforcers detained a man right on the spot when he was stuck in a window lattice trying to get into someone else's house. Having established the identity of the detainee, the investigators proved his involvement in several previously committed crimes.

In particular, it was established that in May-June of 2014, when Kramatorsk was under the control of militants, a 51-year-old resident (already having 6 convictions for theft, robbery, extortion and possession of weapons and drugs), joined the ranks of the terrorist "DNR". The man checked the transport and documents of citizens who crossed the checkpoint, and actively resisted representatives of the Ukrainian authorities.

After the liberation of the city, the militants' accomplice hid in rented apartments. In November 2016, he stole furniture from one of such apartments, causing a $55 damage.

Thus, for the commission of criminal offenses under Part 2 of Art. 260 (participation in the activities of armed groups not provided by law), Part 2 of Art. 185 (theft, committed repeatedly) and part 1 of Art. 162 (violation of the inviolability of the home) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the attacker received a seventh term of imprisonment.
