Escalation of situation at the front and subsequent "small victorious war" will be needed to raise the rating of the "DNR" leaders on the eve of the "local elections". This opinion was expressed by creator the Vostok Battalion Alexander Khodakovsky in social networks.

"The coming year will be hard for Russia, many things will be broken down, as it seems to me. It will be hard for us because we need a small victorious war on the eve of our local elections. No slogan from the social sphere can work - we have lost faith in any rhetoric, deservedly attributing all to the category of demagogy. Therefore, logic dictates only one way to raise the ratings… I wish it would be something like Debaltseve, not Marinka", - the militant wrote.

Alexander Khodakovsky is a former employee of the SBU, he betrayed the oath and from the first days of the Russian hybrid war against Ukraine became one of the leaders of the Donbass terrorists. He created and led the Vostok Battalion. Currently, he is moved away from all official posts in the "DNR". Now he is in the confrontation with the so-called "head of the republic" Alexander Zakharchenko. He stands for an idea of Donbass accession to Russia, but his approach to this matter does not find understanding in the Russian Federation.
