Poroshenko considers blocking of NewsOne TV channel and its editorial policy unacceptable

President Petro Poroshenko considers the blocking of the NewsOne TV channel unacceptable. He stated this on Facebook.

"Any pressure on the media, let alone blocking them, is unacceptable, as there are attempts to justify the actions of the aggressor country against Ukraine, playing up to Russian propaganda, including in such matters as the evaluation of the Revolution of Dignity", - the statement reads.

In the opinion of the head of state, such actions are a reaction to the inaction of those bodies that must respond swiftly.

"The National Council for Television and Radio Broadcasting should more effectively regulate the media space", - the President said.

As previously reported, on December 3, unidentified persons in camouflage blocked the NewsOne TV channel with sandbags and barbed wire, claiming they did not agree with the "channel policy".
