The employees of the Main Directorate of the Security Service in Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts together with the police and the prosecutor's office suppressed the activity of the group, which established the production and selling of methamphetamine in a number of oblasts. This was reported by the press center of the special services.

Law enforcers established that the criminals created an extensive network of drug trafficking in the Odessa, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Kyiv and Donetsk oblasts, including supplying methamphetamine to the "DNR" militants.

In 2015, the organizer of the drug business, a resident of Donetsk, manufactured and sold methamphetamine to the local population of the occupied territory. After the conflict with the representatives of the so-called "Ministry of State Security of the DNR" over the distribution of income from the drugs sale, the man fled from the "DNR" and moved to the Dnipropetrovsk oblast.

The officers of the special services established the whereabouts of the criminal, the location of his clandestine drug laboratory and his accomplices. According to the SBU, drug traffickers transferred part of the profit to representatives of illegal armed groups who protected their illegal business on territories beyond Ukraine's control. The drug dealers made almost a kilogram of methamphetamine each month, which brought up to $111 thousand of illegal profits.

The SBU detained three members of the group in Dnipro city during the sale of another consignment of drugs. Law enforcement officers seized pre-packaged 150 grams of psychotropic drugs, laboratory equipment for its production, ammunition and a grenade.

The men were taken into custody. They were informed of suspicion under part 3 of Art. 28, part 3 of Art. 307, part 2 of Art. 306, part 2 of Art. 317 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The pre-trial investigation continues.
