Russia considers the power shift of the occupation authorities of the "LNR" to be a continuity. This follows from a statement of the Press Secretary of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Dmitry Peskov, Komsomolskaya Pravda reports.

"The continuity, especially in the implementation of the Minsk agreements, initiatives for the exchange of detained persons, are certainly preserved, and we proceed from this", - Peskov said.

As previously reported, last week an armed coup took place in Luhansk, as a result of which Igor Plotnitsky, the self-proclaimed "head of the republic" escaped to Moscow, according to Russian media reports. Later on his behalf, a statement of resignation "for health reasons" was announced. After this, grossly violating the already legally useless "constitution", Leonid Pasechnik declared himself the acting "head of the LNR". In order to give some sort of legitimacy to the new leader of the "LNR", the "main law" was quickly rewritten - any citizen who has reached the age of 30 can now occupy the post of “the head of the republic”.
