The Embassy of Ukraine sent a note to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus in connection with the arrest of Oleksandr Skyba, head of "Plant of Weighting Agents" company in Minsk. This was announced by the Ambassador of Ukraine to Belarus Ihor Kizim, reports TUT.BY.

The Ambassador found out about the arrest of Skyba on Saturday, November 18, according to him. "I immediately contacted colleagues from the Belarusian Foreign Ministry, unfortunately, they did not have any information. KGB also did not provide any information", - the diplomat said.

"We sent a note asking to explain why a citizen of Ukraine was detained and what he was charged with. We also demanded to allow consul and relatives to the detained man," the ambassador added.

According to Kizim, director of the Ukrainian plant is accused of giving a bribe.

As previously reported, Belarusian special services detained CEO of the PJSC "Plant of Weighting Agents" (Kostiantynivka, the Donetsk oblast) Oleksandr Skyba. He arrived in Minsk on November 15 on a business trip for talks with OJSC Minsk Tractor Works, with which the Ukrainian company has an agreement on the supply of products used by the Belarusian plant's foundry.
