MFA confirms detention of Ukrainian journalist of the Ukrainian radio in Belarus

Vasyl Kyrylych, the Head of Department of Consular Support confirmed the information on the detention of Pavlo Sharoyko, the journalist of the Ukrainian radio as Radio Liberty reported.

According to Kyrylych, the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine assumes measures to protect the rights of the detained citizen of Ukraine.

'We do not comment on the circumstances of the detention', he said.

Ihor Kyzym, the Ambassador of Ukraine to Belarus added that the Embassy of Ukraine sent a note to the Foreign Ministry of Belarus.

As previously reported, Pavlo Sharoyko, a correspondent of the Ukrainian Radio, was arrested in Belarus.
