Lavrov wants OSCE to control usage of Russian language in Ukraine

Russia is interested in ensuring that the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe closely follows the observance of the rights of national minorities in the field of education and culture in Ukraine. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Friday, - TASS reported.

"We are interested in that the OSCE closely monitors what Kyiv is doing in the context of the overall mandate of the OSCE mission to Ukraine. This mandate extends to all major regions of Ukraine and requires monitoring the obligations of the Kyiv authorities in the sphere of education, culture and other rights of national minorities, including ethnic Russians and the Russian-speaking population of the country", - he said.
