The front-line Marinka and Krasnohorivka will spend this winter without gas and heating. This follows from the Facebook post of the chairman of the Donetsk Regional State Administration Pavlo Zhebrivsky.

The head of the oblast said that he had met with representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross Daniel Hennon-Bert and Christoph Gravend. At the meeting, the issue of gas supply to the front-line  area of the Donetsk oblast was raised, as a number of gas pipelines were damaged as a result of hostilities.

Now the pipeline from the controlled territory is laid to Avdiivka and the settlements of the Yasynovatsky district.

"We would like to launch the existing gas pipeline, restored with the help of Red Cross, through Marinka and Krasnogorovka, but the pro-Russian bandits do not allow us to install and start the gas distribution system, so we are already thinking about alternative gas supply from Kurakhove (the design and estimate documentation for the alternative project exists, but we cannot begin work before spring). Therefore, we hope for the assistance of the OSCE and the Red Cross in the issues of pressure on the Russian side, so that it provides full ceasefire and gives an opportunity to launch an existing pipeline", - Zhebrivsky wrote.

Marinka and Krasnohorivka are front-line settlements, which periodically suffer from shelling. Since 2014, there is no gas, there are interruptions with water and electricity because of the fighting.
