Russian political technologist, former "prime-minister" of the "DNR" Alexander Borodai said that businessman Rinat Akhmetov offered him half a million dollars through an intermediary. He said this in an interview with one of the Russian publications.

Borodai also noted that Akhmetov needed Khodakovsky, while he had "strength" in the form of the Vostok battalion.

"There was a special task, one of its particular consequences was the leveling of the influence of Rinat Akhmetov - the owner of the Donetsk oblast at that time. It was unprofitable for Khodakovsky, because Akhmetov financed him. Once he tried to bring me a suitcase with 500 thousand dollars from Rinat. I returned it to Khodakovsky, and he allegedly spent it to finance the Vostok battalion. He just needed Akhmetov's money", - Borodai said.

Alexander Borodai is a Russian political strategist who, from May 16, 2014 to August 7, 2014, held the post of chairman of the Council of Ministers of the fake “DNR”. From August 8, 2014 to October 20, 2014 he was an adviser to Alexander Zakharchenko, to whom he allegedly handed over the authority, but actually appointed him the head of the “DNR”.

Alexander Khodakovsky is a former employee of the SBU, he betrayed the oath and from the first days of the Russian hybrid war against Ukraine became one of the leaders of the Donbass terrorists. He created and led the Vostok battalion. Currently, he is moved away from all official posts in the "DNR". Now he is in the confrontation with the so-called "head of the republic" Alexander Zakharchenko. He stands for an idea of Donbass accession to Russia, but his approach to this matter does not find understanding in the Russian Federation.
