Payments of increased pensions begin from today - Groysman

This month, more than 9 million Ukrainians will receive increased pensions. This was said at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers today by Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman, - correspondent of OstroV reports.

"Today, the law on new pension system comes into effect and we start the process of paying increased pensions. The system is ready to fully calculate the new pensions, and all those who have already received the first payments will be charged additionally, if is provided by the law", - he reported.

"So this month, we are providing more than 9 million Ukrainians with increased pensions, but the main thing is that we are introducing an absolutely new system that will allow people to receive fair pensions", - Groysman added.

The prime minister also noted that from October 1, the minimum pension in Ukraine will be $55.

"No one will receive less", - he said.

From October, 15% taxation for working pensioners has also been canceled.
