The Verkhovna Rada has passed presidential bill No 7164 "On creating the necessary conditions for a peaceful settlement of the situation in certain districts of the Donetsk and the Luhansk oblasts", - correspondent of OstroV reports.

229 people's deputies casted an affirmative vote for the relevant decision.

Thus, the Law "On special order of local self-government in certain districts of the Donetsk and the Luhansk oblasts" is extended for another year. According to the previous version, it was valid until October 18, 2017.

Relevant committee of the Verkhovna Rada did not initially support the proposed version of the bill and sent it to the president for finalization.

Later, a new (finalized) version of the bill was added to the parliament's website, which was supplemented by a clause according to which a special order of local self-government in certain districts of the Donetsk and the Luhansk oblasts comes into effect only after the withdrawal of all illegal armed formations and their military equipment, as well as militants and mercenaries from the territory of Ukraine.

It was this version of the bill that was brought to the hall and supported by the people's deputies.

Earlier, the Verkhovna Rada passed the presidential bill No 7163 "On the peculiarities of state policy to ensure the state sovereignty of Ukraine over temporarily occupied territories of the Donetsk and the Luhansk oblasts" in its first reading.
