The MFA of the Russian Federation stated that "nothing of the kind happens" in Ukraine in order to supply the Armed Forces of Ukraine with American weapons. Director of the Russian Foreign Ministry's Department for Nonproliferation and Arms Control Mikhail Ulyanov stated this at a press conference in Moscow, - UNIAN reports.

"Nothing is happening in Ukraine at the moment to dictate even the slightest need for such dangerous steps", - Ulyanov said. According to him, this decision would be "equal to an attempt of the USA to add fuel to the fire… As if the level of confrontation and tension is insufficient".

"I think many people even in the U.S. administration are aware why there have been no such shipments before. If the U.S. policy in that issue changes, this could seriously aggravate the situation", - he said.

As previously reported, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on September 5 that if the USA supplies weapons in Ukraine, Russian militants, who control the Donbass, can turn their weapons to other "zones".
