Moscow court prolonged arrest of Ukrainian journalist Sushchenko for another 2 months

Moscow City Court has extended the period of detention for illegally detained journalist of Ukrinform Roman Sushchenko for two months - until November 30, 2017. This was reported by his lawyer Mark Feygin on Twitter.

According to him, the defence will appeal this decision.

"The period of detention of Roman Sushchenko was extended for two months, until November 30, 2017. The defence will appeal the decision", - Feygin wrote.

As it was previously reported, violating international rules, Ukrinform's resident correspondent in France Roman Suschenko was detained in Moscow, where he arrived with a private trip, on September 30, 2016. On October 7, he was charged with "espionage." The FSB of Russia stated that Sushchenko is an employee of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine. The Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine denied this statement. The effective term of detention of Sushchenko expires on 30 September.
