The Cabinet approved changes to the resolution, according to which the procedure for granting state assistance for internally displaced persons under the program Affordable Housing is simplified. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Regional Development, Construction and Housing of Ukraine Hennadiy Zubko, commenting on the adoption of a government resolution, - his press office said.

According to him, the decree was developed in pursuance of the Law on the Prevention of the Impact of the Global Financial Crisis on the Development of the Construction Sector and Housing Construction.

The procedure under which the state will provide support for paying up to 50% of the cost of housing for the ATO participants and internally displaced persons and 30% for other categories of the population has been amended.

"The program Affordable Housing will be distributed primarily to two categories of citizens - the ATO participants and IDPs. The proposed changes will allow 50% compensation for the cost of housing, and simplify the list of documents that must be submitted", - Zubko said.

Also, the right to get state support will be given to those IDPs who do not own a house or own a living space that does not exceed 13.65 square meters.

The IDPs have the right to participate in the program if they do not own housing located in the controlled territory of Ukraine.
