The first Korolenkivsky pond, which was a resting place for the residents of Horlivka for many years, has practically dried out during the occupation of city. It was planned to carry out works on the reconstruction of the pond before the war: clearing of the Korolenkivsky pond No 1 with an area of ​​2.2 hectares and a neighboring sediment pond from silt and bed of rushes, organization of the hydraulic waste disposal, reconstruction of the revetment wall, dam, installation of the local treatment facilities, complete improvement of the surrounding area, park zone and an artificial sandy beach creation. However, none of this was made.
