The creator of the terrorist Vostok Battalion Alexander Khodakovsky has recognized that there was no threat of civil war in Crimea in 2014 and the residents of the peninsula came to a referendum solely because they wanted to receive Russian salaries and pensions. He wrote about this in a social network.

"Crimea is so a specific region that it is impossible to talk about any internal processes without looking at this definition - a specific one. Without the desire to hurt some activists, I will characterize the procedure for joining the Crimea with regard to the majority of its residents: we were successfully married without us. It was required to come to the referendum and give the votes, remembering that at that time, the pension in Russia was twice as high as in Ukraine", - Khodakovsky admits.

"I understand that my words can hurt the Crimean proponents of the Russian World, who are hardly heard today, and I apologize in advance, but I doubt that a civil war for the ideals of this Russian World and against the "Kiev junta" would have been started in the Crimea, based just on the beliefs and of own volition", - the militant writes.

"No one denies the fact that the Crimea had Russian moods, but there is a difference in having them, and being ready to admit a war for them in their own territory", - he sums up.
