Zakharchenko abandoned the Minsk agreements for good and called on Ukraine to recognize the "DNR"

The leader of the "DNR" Alexander Zakharchenko, contrary to the Minsk agreements, has stated that the best option for ending the armed conflict in the Donbass is Ukraine's recognition of the terrorist "republic". He told this on the air of Russian television.

"An ideal option for the peace with Ukraine is independence (of the "DNR" – OstroV), so that Kyiv will recognize it". This is my personal opinion, and I think that our people support this opinion. Further on, we will decide by ourselves how we will live, who will be our friends, which state we will enter, this is a personal decision of the residents", – the militant stated.

A "personal opinion" of Zakharchenko completely contradicts the Minsk agreements, which primarily provide for the restoration of Ukraine's territorial integrity by providing the temporarily occupied territories of Donbass with the status of "districts with a special order of local self-government". Under all the documents, signed in Minsk, there are signatures, including the puppet leader of the "DNR" Alexander Zakharchenko. Such concepts of the "DNR" or the "LNR", as well as the names of any positions of the "heads of republics", do not appear in the Minsk documents at all.
