Ambassadors of the European Union have approved the decision to extend sanctions against Russia for the annexation of Crimea for another six months. Rikard Jozwiak, the correspondent of Radio Liberty from Brussels wrote about this on Twitter, - RBC-Ukraine reports.

"Today, the EU ambassadors decided to extend the freeze of assets and the ban on the entry of 149 officials from Russia and separatists + 38 companies", - Jozwiak reported.

In turn, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has welcomed this decision.

"I welcome the decision of the EU ambassadors to extend the package of sanctions against Russia for the occupation of Crimea for half a year. The burden of "Crimeaisours" should become very heavy until Ukraine's sovereignty over the peninsula is fully restored", - the head of state said on his Facebook.
