The President of the USA Donald Trump has signed a law on the imposing sanctions against Russia. This was stated by the U.S. Vice President Mike Pence during a joint press conference with the Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Kvirikashvili in Tbilisi, video of which was made public on the website of the White House, - UNIAN reports.

According to the U.S. Vice President, Moscow must fulfill its obligations for their cancellation. "President Trump has signed a document on imposing sanctions against the Russian Federation. We are striving to cancel them, but this will be possible only if Russia fulfills its obligations, but Russia's recent diplomatic steps, unfortunately, denote the opposite", - Pence stated.

As previously reported, 98 out of 100 members of the U.S. Senate had voted earlier for a new package of sanctions against Russia, Iran and the DPRK. New sanctions provide for penalty measures, including for European companies, which, in particular, will cooperate with Russia's Gazprom in implementing the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline. The bill was also approved by the House of Representatives and sent to the President for signature.
