The militants carried out 29 shelling of the AFU positions in the zone of anti-terrorist operation over the past 24 hours, as a result of which 5 Ukrainian soldiers were killed and 8 were injured. This is reported by the press center of the ATO headquarters.

"In total, the enemy opened fire on our positions 29 times during the past day. The ATO forces used weapons 16 times in return. Unfortunately, five Ukrainian soldiers were killed and eight were wounded. It should be added that thanks to the skillful and prompt actions of our fighters, the enemy not only stopped the fire provocation, but also suffered serious losses in the manpower", - the report said.

It is noted that illegal armed groups increased their activity in the Donetsk direction after 6 p.m.

From 7 p.m. and almost to 11 p.m., the militants fired 4 times in various directions, according to the positions of the AFU near Avdiivka from 120 and 82 mm mortars, grenade launchers and small arms. Ukrainian military opened dense fire in return every time, forcing the enemy to stop shelling.

Moreover, the militants fired at the strong points of Ukrainian military at Butivka mine from mortars and grenade launchers at the end of the day. The ATO forces also fired from grenade launchers and heavy machine guns. One fighter died and one was injured in this fire confrontation.

In the Luhansk direction, illegal armed groups disturbed the ceasefire near Stanytsia Luhanska about 10 p.m., and in the Donetsk direction - near Vodiane village.
