Today Svativsky court in the Luhansk oblast will begin to consider the case against the perpetrators of the terrorist attack, during which exactly three years ago a Ukrainian military transport aircraft with troops on board was shot down, "zn.ua" reports.

It is noted that the leader of the "LPR" Igor Plotnitsky and two bandit commanders - Andrei Patrushev and Alexander Gureev are accused of the terrorist attack. All of them might be sentenced up to life imprisonment, but the court will be in absentia, since the accused are not present in the territory under the control of the Ukrainian authorities.

As previously reported, on June 14, 2014, at the Luhansk airport terrorists shot down an Il-76 military transport aircraft carrying 40 servicemen of the 25th Airborne Brigade and 9 members of the crew of the 25th separate brigade of the military transport aviation. All of them died.

On June 18, the Prosecutor General's Office stated that one of the reasons for the tragedy could be the negligence of the Ukrainian military command.

In 2017, the representative of the Ukrainian command Major-General Viktor Nazarov was convicted for negligence.
