Another media confirmed OstroV’s information about the detention of Bakhmut mayor Reva

Vesti, referring to its own sources, reported the detention of the long-standing mayor of Bakhmut (former Artemivsk) Oleksiy Reva.

As OstroV reported on Friday, in Bakhmut prosecutors conducted searches on businesses and private apartments associated with the town's head. The sources said that as a result of the special operations conducted by the Chief Military Prosecutor Anatoliy Matios, Oleksiy Reva was detained and taken to Kyiv.

This information was not officially confirmed, but on Sunday evening Vesti, referring to its own sources in the security services, also wrote about the detention of the mayor of Bakhmut.

Vesti confirmed that the detention was held on Friday, and it was preceded by a series of searches at the firms and in the housing of Oleksiy Reva. "The whole operation - on searches and detention - was led by the Chief Military Prosecutor Anatoliy Matios", - Vesti reported.

This information is still not officially confirmed.

Oleksiy Reva has been heading Bakhmut (Artemivsk) since 1994.

His son, Dmytro Reva, was a people's deputy of Ukraine of the VI convocation from the Party of Regions.

During the events of 2014, Oleksiy Reva allowed to hang the flag of the "DPR" over the city council.
